Cathryn Weatherhead is an illustrator who originates from Pontyclun in South Wales and she has graduated in 2008 from Swansea Metropolitan University.
Her illustrations are varied in terms of media, she is always chopping and changing her mind as to what she prefers the most. Collage is still a firm favourite but she is now introducing mono printing, paint, pencil and embroidery…… an amalgamation of lots of different practices .
Her inspiration for her work is varied from flicking through the old school books of her brothers and sister to snippets of conversation she over hears! Cathryn comes from a large family so there is a seemingly never- ending pile of ‘picture and story’ books hoarded, to inspire further illustrations and re-create her childhood memories.
