I started my own business about two years ago because I wanted to be my own boss and follow my own ideas - I was never very good with authority!!

I had a stall for a year and a half at Camden Lock in London which was great fun. Now I mostly sell my products through Internet shopping sites like www.allthingsoriginal.com.

I use lots of different fabrics to make my cushions including felted wool (all different colours), natural calico, cottons, needle point cords, gingham and silks. I love to mix all these different textures. My designs result in a form of layering, appliqué and machine stitching.

I take inspiration for my work from nature and images I find, photograph, or design myself. I then alter the images & mess around with the colours until I'm happy with the results. That's how I ended up with the Union Jack cushion, Queen's Head and 1st-Class Stamp designs that make up my Pop Britannia range of cushions.
